What are your daily responsibilities?
Pick up and work on tickets that are submitted by clients. Create knowledge base articles based on cases that you've solved. Workload varies by day, sometimes things are slow, sometimes you are ridiculously busy.
What were some projects you were involved in?
What were strong points of your interview? Did grades matter?
The main thing they were looking for were communication and problem solving skills. They were also looking to see if I would fit in and work well with the rest of the team. My grades were looked at, but were not emphasized.
Which skill sets/courses were most relevant to your position?
JRE420, APS111/112, Programming, Team Strategies General computer & network troubleshooting skills. SQL database knowledge would be useful, but not absolutely required to know beforehand. They will teach you what you need to know.
What did your company expect from you as a 2nd/3rd year co-op student?
They expect us to do the same work as other full time employees. We received the same training, and therefore were not treated any differently. Training usually lasts about 2 months, and they expect that you are able to feel confident in your skills about 3 or 4 months into the internship.
Did you like your overall PEY experience? Why or why not?
Yes, I'm enjoying myself. My favorite part is getting to learn stuff that is not really covered in Chem Eng.
