What are your daily responsibilities?
- Coordinate projects relating to the integrity of pipeline across Alberta and Canada - Act as the main point of contact with external and internal stakeholders - Travel to project sites during or before construction to gain a hand-on understanding of the work - Evaluate cost and schedule impact of potential actions using technical and economic analysis - Organize and run review meetings with Internal groups and contractors to address design issues at key stages of the project
What were some projects you were involved in?
- Several projects relating to the construction of Integrity assembly along pipelines in Canada, each project ranges from $2M to $10M
What were strong points of your interview? Did grades matter?
Extra-curricular, communication and leadership skills. Grades matter but are not the most important
Which skill sets/courses were most relevant to your position?
APS101/102, Team Strats, Engineering Economics, Enviro (Basically anything involving team)
What did your company expect from you as a 2nd/3rd year co-op student?
The expectations are very high, I am doing the same type of work as other full-time engineers. At some points, you are not considered an intern but an integral part of the team.
Did you like your overall PEY experience? Why or why not?
Yes, it's a great position where I never feel like I am doing boring or repetitive work.
One fun fact about your job?
Lots of free coffees, lunches, christmas and stampede parties, as you work with a lot of contractors and they wlll do nice things for you.

Job isn't really technical, although you are heavily involved in design process, you don't get do the actual engineering. It's a really good opportunity to build interpersonal and communication skills.
