What are your daily responsibilities?
Everyday was different! major responsibilities included OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency) calculations and loss analysis, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities with manufacturing line operators, various focused improvement projects.
What were some projects you were involved in?
- Project to reduce changeover losses of the manufacturing lines at the plant - Engineering project involving implementation of a new equipment/process - 12 Step Kaizen project to reduce the 3rd highest loss of the plant - Project to improve the efficiency of the manufacturing lines using continuous improvement methodologies
What were strong points of your interview? Did grades matter?
The interview was mostly behavioural. Grades did not matter, it was your attitude/personality that mattered. Show that you can take initiative, have leadership skills and that you are suitable for a dynamic work place
Which skill sets/courses were most relevant to your position?
Food Engineering
What did your company expect from you as a 2nd/3rd year co-op student?
To be able to take initiative, learn as quickly as possible, and foster positive change in the workplace
Did you like your overall PEY experience? Why or why not?
Yes. I got to learn something new everyday. The job had a lot of variety and I got many opportunities to work in the different departments of the company

You are given as much responsibility as the supervisor!
