What were strong points of your interview? Did grades matter?
Being myself, being prepared for any question and being comfortable. Nailing the "Tell me about yourself" question. As a Skype interview, I thought the best idea was to still be fully formally dressed and test out my internet connections beforehand.
Which skill sets/courses were most relevant to your position?
Unit Ops, Heat and Mass Transfer. Knowledge of excel is vital.
What did your company expect from you as a 2nd/3rd year co-op student?
That I would be independent and not require much supervision.
Did you like your overall PEY experience? Why or why not?
I appreciate the environment that I am in; it is a fully equipped pulp and paper plant and I could do several things that I would never have been exposed to otherwise. On the other hand, the management people were often too busy to provide me with tasks and supervise me, though they tried their best.
One fun fact about your job?
The town of Temiscaming has less than 3000 people, and is right on the border of Quebec and Ontario. Quebec is almost a wholly different country and culture than Ontario.
