What are your daily responsibilities?
preparing change papers for modification projects on existing systems, visiting the field and documenting observations, discrepancies, and measurements, and cataloguing technical instrument data to maintain records of affected equipment
What were some projects you were involved in?
Boiler Level Control Component Replacement, Inter Station Transfer Bus, Reactor Building Service Water De-chlorination & Effluent Monitoring System, Standby Boiler Capacity Improvement, Installation of Multi-Gas Analyzers on MOT/SST/UST Transformers
What were strong points of your interview? Did grades matter?
I am not aware that grades mattered. Questions were standard behavioural questions. They were impressed that I knew that OPG was a Crown Corporation and how it was affected by Fukushima.
Which skill sets/courses were most relevant to your position?
What did your company expect from you as a 2nd/3rd year co-op student?
Take initiative, be reliable and resourceful, follow procedures
Did you like your overall PEY experience? Why or why not?
It was interesting to be in an ECE job as a chemical engineering student.
One fun fact about your job?
Watching the sunrise on the Eastbound 401 every morning
